Jane Fraser

I am an experienced and accredited psychotherapist and counsellor.

I began my personal and professional development in counselling and psychotherapy in the late 1980s and I trained at Spectrum, a centre for humanistic psychology. Beginning with a certificate in Counselling skills I went on to graduate with a Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapy and accredit with both the BACP and UKCP.   I have been practicing as a psychotherapist and counsellor since 2006.

I have also worked in IT and Senior Management in the NHS, the BBC and Siemens. I halve also worked in the third sector.  I have managed organisational change and I am very interested in working with people who may be experiencing redundancy or difficulties at work such as confidence, anxiety or self-esteem issues.

My approach

My approach to working is integrative.  By that I mean I draw upon a number of principals and theories and I will be guided by what you are wanting from therapy and how our work progresses.

I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship can support us to engage in our own self-awareness and gain more clarity.

When we are clear how we form ourselves in our relationships with individuals, families, employment or stages of our lives, we understand more vividly our own patterns.  This helps us to make the changes we seek to live more satisfying lives.

By using a number of therapeutic approaches to offer individuals a varied and personal way of exploring your issues.

I charge £65 per session.  Sessions last 50 minutes.

Jane Fraser

I am a psychotherapist because…

I was interested in becoming a psychotherapist because I was curious about therapy and how it worked.

It was in my own personal therapy, with my therapist working alongside me, that I became more able and willing to notice myself, my experiences and what I wanted for myself. I was then able to make changes to achieve what I really wanted and to feel more satisfied.

One of those changes was to train as a psychotherapist as my curiosity grew into a deepening interest in the practice of psychotherapy.
